Out of the warm, dry region of the central texas hill country, there exists four tall, handsome, talented young rockers with sharp, venomous tails that pack one hell of a sting. Collectively they are known as Scorpion Child.     Born in June of 2006, the Child consisted of vocalist Aryn Schwartz, guitarist Asa Savage, and bassist Shaun Avants. The three went on to add Jeremy Cruz of previous Austin fame in early 2007, to lay down the rhythm with his creative and powerful drum skills. Even in their earliest appearances, the lineup has pummeled their audiences with sonic fury in the vein of The Cult, the beauty and soul of Led Zeppelin III, coupled with the raw power of The Stooges and The MC5. Things have happened very fast for Scorpion Child - having only their second show headlining a large 3 day festival in Denver, Colorado. Immediate plans for the band include SXSW showcasing, beginning with a March 11th show opening the festival @ Beauty Bar. The Child just concluded a week-long recording session at The Bubble with the incredibly talented Frenchy Smith at the helm. The medium was 2” 24-track analog tape allowing for a smooth transition to vinyl.
